DBS manga is good until the Universe 6 tournament arc.
The black arc is a hit or miss (like the anime) and the Tournament of power is extremely rushed and most battles occur off screen.
Jiren gets introduced a bit earlier than the anime which is cool but the whole arc is such a disappointment after all the stuff the anime did with the characters.
I recommend you to just start with Moro

Shin was afraid of Dabura, who is about SS2 level. I haven't actually seen how Dabura's fight with Trunks went, so I don't know if it was actually tough or if Dabura was more like Cell, who gets trounced by SS2 unless his opponent is literally crippled. Piccolo in Super goes toe-to-toe with SS2 to show he's still a viable fighter. Now his peepee form will allow him to be however fucking strong they want him to be. Shin's probably around the same level of strength as Future Trunks' first appearance. So a slightly trained Super Saiyan. This is the extent of my autism on the subject.
