I think the core fanbase will stick with it through thick and thin. I'm not sure about more casual readers who've come in through the anime. Maybe she wants to exert more control over her work's peripheral content than she did with Pandora Hearts.

But frankly, VnC is decently popular among English speaking fans, it's just that you won't see most of them here. I will go out of my way to upload new chapters here when they're published, but I suspect that there will only ever be a handful of us who will care when I do. There's a bias against pretty boy manga on this site, and it's got an unusual mix of of genres. It leads to a lot of people to not know what to make of this kind of story.
