My problem with revenge power fantasies is how they always have this weird switch from useless loser to demigod, that is just unsatisfactory.
I love stories with OPMCs. But the switch is unbelievable. And weird.
Not just that, but the useless loser is usually unlikable too. A whiny faggot who frankly deserves all the shit he gets, and never tries to improve his life until BING, here comes the superpower train.
And besides, revenge would be all the sweeter if it weren't just a silly game to the MC. If the MC had to actually expend effort to murder his enemies.
But with the OPMC, it's all grins and public performances and hilarious punishments.
