Why don’t we see honorable knightly men anymore?

Why don’t we see honorable knightly men anymore?
Why is defending royalty so bad now?
Did isekai ruin this just as it made the church evil?

The MC is the noble knightly men.
Said this, this doesn't happen because Isekai series tend to erase all secondary casts meant to develop the MC and its a genuine issue.
Isekai MCs are so autodidactic that they don't need a mentor, which pretty much erases the role of the Elder Knight mentor.

you really, really think the reason the church is often depicted as evil in japanese media is because of isekai? holy fuck

People really blames everything on Isekai

Otome isekai are full of them.
Literally, too many.

Good morning sir!

the knights were evil

>Why is defending royalty so bad now?
You've clearly never read One Piece.

the church was really evil

Kings, queens, and "royalty" are generally synonymous with evil or greed at this point to the average person. I couldn't even imagine wanting to serve a "lord", let alone thinking it makes for a cool character trait in fiction.

Are you British by any chance?

The shinto and Buddhists were always the bad guys IRL
Religion of peace my ass

No I just like honorable knightly characters. Blame FF12

Because they are often hypocrites in their creeds and actual duties, since nobles are easy to write off as immoral and corrupt.
Only thing shinto ever did bad was get used my a military state to reinstate "Divine rule". And Id like you to come up with why exactly is Buddhism the "bad guy".

There's a Tezuka story that's part of Phoenix about how Buddhism was introduced to Japan and its practice enforced by threats of violence or actual violence over Shintoism. Don't know how accurate to real life that is though.

>Royalty bad!!!
>Church bad!!!!
>God is evil, angels are evil!!!!
>Shitty ignorant angsty envious peasants good
>Muh "little man VS Goliath" trope
>Muh underdog/oppressed self insertion

Pushed it to absurdly obnoxious levels with the Kozuki and the samurai and minks

Royalty, nobility is inherently evil.
I'm glad Arland is a Republic now.

Return of the King ruined it with Denethor actively getting his men killed

you are jewmerican right?

He was defending Satan the entire time and barely questioned it, despite knowing full well shit was super alarming and out of character

Was he not batshit insane at that point?
