You're supposed to want to fuck him.

He's not a cheater

You're supposed to fap to porn of him getting railed by old men

I know the actual point of the story is Hilary’s step into the world of Go, hence the title, but I’d rather it have been Sai’s journey of Go in the modern world and felt the story was weaker without him

>Lol I never played Go before wanna play?
>Has a Go master spirit tell him all the best moves.
>pretends it's himself playing.
>Would you look at that I won lol gg.

no you watch him grow up from a brat to a competent go player in his own right

Sai dies

Sai becomes less relevant pretty quickly.

No, you're supposed to root for best boy Sai

GO IS VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS OKAY

This loser couldn't even beat the Chinese guy

enjoy the ride. really good show.

Read this recently for the first time, holy fuck did the story shit the bed after Sai disappeared (even before the Korea drama)

Yeah he's like half the gimmick, if you remove him you should end the story shortly afterwards, so he should only be removed when there's an ending in mind. No one's going to want to read it for the totally exhilarating Go matches, Go is boring without a gimmick. Muh character growth means nothing, I want to see more of the Chinese Chess Yami Yugi, removing him almost halfway in the series is retarded.

I remember enjoying the series until the Korean drama drained most of my interest in it.

Does he at least get a ceremonial duel? I'm not far into the series and I don't mind some spoilers but it's just that it would be hell as anticlimactic if Hikaru and Sai never play each other.

They play each other for fun all the time for practice. No, which is what makes his departure so tragic.

Yeah, the chapter where Akira deduces Sai's existence would've been the perfect place to stop.

Touya pls go.

I also read Saki for the mahjong.

That's a lie, it's for the gay shipping in both.
