Demon Slayer

Somebody please explain to me why the fuck the government doesn't support the Demon Slayer corps. It should be very easy to prove to them that demons exist, and once they found out they'd be more than willing to help out in exterminating monsters that are a clear and present danger to Japan.
Furthermore, why is the existence of demons kept a secret? Keeping demons secret only benefits demons and makes it harder for the Demon Slayers to do their job and get recruits.

Maybe a great deal of people would chose to turn into demon since it means you can be immortal and extremely strong.

Bad writing, nothing new in kimetsu

Plus, with the government's support they could plant wisteria trees around every town in Japan to keep the demons out. Seriously, they really don't use wisteria to its full potential as demon Kryptonite in the series.

Because then the government would force them to make a less retarded entrance exam that doesn't have a 90% death rate.

if the demons can only hunt during the night time, why not just keep the sun on

Anybody smart enough to work in government would know that you always want to keep your options open and play both sides against the middle.

Even stupid people are smart enough to know that if they happen to be politically-inclined, they just do it at a stupid person's level.

Whether you're smart or dumb, either way, people who are attracted to power and influence and make their way into a government position are incapable of being genuinely loyal to any person or group. They can accept loyalty, which they will betray the instant it's convenient, and they can display false loyalty, usually changing their performance to match the audience watching them at the time.

But the idea that any government would support a do-gooder organization that has very powerful enemies is the idea of a child. Or at least, someone with no future in politics.

wisteria not on a magic mountain blooms for about a week a year

They probably had tacit deals with regional lords during the Tokugawa shogunate. The Meiji restorationists were relatively new and westernized. The Ubayashiki had to keep a very low and secure profile to keep from being hunted down (again) by Koku and the other upper moons.

if the public knew of the existence of 10/10 Oni babes, then they'd willingly become their meals or mates. therefore it must remain a secret.

They wouldn't support the do-gooder organization, they'd simply take it over and use an army of super-powered breating people. They'd still kill demons because demons are bad for the economy and could be used as propaganda enemies to rally people, but the super-powered army would be the best part, especially since they can just claim that any enemy of the state is a demon and use that as an excuse to kill anyone.

Yeah, from an in-universe perspective it doesn't make any sense, and from a meta perspective, the Demon Slayers being a secret govenment branch instead of being their own thing wouldn't have changed the plot at all.

Don't most ppl are unaware that demons even exists in this universe?

getting the government involved is a surefire way to get nothing done

Mukago, taken from us too soon

But why though? Demon attacks are frequent, and in the real world Japanese peasants back then believed in demons and shit even though we now know for sure they don't exist.

Yeah, and that doesn't make any sense

Because the demons threat was somewhat limited outside the upper moons.

>It should be very easy to prove demons exist
The opposite actually. They only come out at night and disintegrate after they're killed

Wish I could say. Its a choice on the writers part and the writer has written things that I don't agree with.

All you have to do is capture one alive.

Not to mention force them to get actual teachers and schools rather than just have some old men in weird masks sit around and tell kids to go swing a sword in the woods for a year without really explaining anything and secretely hoping he'll fail.
