>check out cool looking anime
>it doesn't attempt to subvert or deconstruct the medium in any meta way to create something intellectual
>it just relies on tropes without ever trying to subvert them in a dark realistic way
DROPPED
Check out cool looking anime
Good, you don't deserve to watch them.
"Deconstruction" has somewhat lost some of its memetic/shitposting power, since no one on Any Forums cares about the medium narrative threads these days. They just consume and move on to the next hot thing. How do you bait people with "Madoka is a deconstruction!" if they don't even give a shit about mahou shoujo?
it's just a cartoon bro who cares
this
Yeah fuck off Jew. I've had enough of your subversion media, and so has everyone else.
>check out cool looking anime
>it has gay shit in it
DROPPED
I haven't completed an anime for over a year because of this.
>people have had enough of your shit!
>posts the fastest selling game of its year
Huh.
Your loss.
It's a FUCKING CARTOON.
A MOVING TALKING DRAWING. What's with people and wanting everything to be subversive or a deconstruction? Are we really at the point where we can't enjoy any piece of media unless it's either ironic, a commentary on something or making fun of something in a """dark realistic way"""?
What does "dark realistic" even mean?
That's a pretentious argument lmao
Deconstruction has become the Darksouls of anime
It means absolutely nothing now
Kid, if your IQ is not at least 110 and you don't want to be intellectually challenged by works of fiction, I suggest you head over to Any Forums or Any Forums or wherever your kind conglomerates
>plotfag
I wouldn't step on that minefield, if I were you
Anime culture is predominately nothing more than cheap gags overloaded with sex. Its inclined to be just something you watch and forget.
Intellectual fiction like Shinsekai Yori and Houseki no Kuni are masterpieces that everyone should watch but I wouldn't want it to be the standard.
The biggest turn off with intellectual shows is that it requires brain power to fully appreciate. I am already stressed out, man. Let me just lie down and jack off
It was completely carried by the first game.
I dare them to release a 3rd one and everyone would have a massive laugh
The more I see deconstructions in anime, the less I’m convinced a deconstruction actually exists except as some made up buzzword that doesn’t really describe anything.
Take Evangelion, paraded around by many as a deconstruction, until I saw other mecha, I believed it. But the more mecha I see…the more I’m just realizing Eva is Annos take on his favorite mecha, changing some of the mysteries and reasons for stuff because he thought it was cool and deep. It’s less some logical thought experiment into how mecha would actually work…and more of just a creator who is intimate with the genre, adding in things they want to see and also celebrating works they loved.
>The biggest turn off with intellectual shows is that it requires brain power to fully appreciate. I am already stressed out, man. Let me just lie down and jack off
Can do both. Let the dopamine guide your understanding.
Mayaka is cute! CUTE!
It's almost like people who use the term deconstruction don't know what the fuck they're talking about.
yeah Mecha shit always had dark themes in their shows. It's like they think that all magical girl shows are sailor moon and voltron.
Nah, nah, mate
It's right on the word
Deconstruction means that you want to reverse engineer the genre, figure out how it works, reveal its flaws, and then reconstruct it in the exact opposite of the original design.
Mecha genre is a toy that invokes the idea of absolute masculinity. Entire genre literally started with a Kid who found a controller for Tetsujin robo who then defended Japan by defeating the Red Hood and their Ox (metaphors for Soviet Union)
EVA deconstructed it by casting instead an effeminate MC who just wanted to escape the responsibilies of saving the world
Being edgy and dramatic is not deconstruction.
You have to actually understand the main theme of the genre and do the exact opposite
I'm kinda tired out from all the subverting shit nowadays. It's only really interesting when someone sets out just to make some good shit and unintentionally also subverts a lot of tropes
