The fact that he never really lost with it at all is what leads me to believe this 'win' is a red herring.
Unless Kaido is beaten at his best it doesn't feel like its over, the dragon form jobbed from its initial appearance

I quit this shitshow at the beginning of fishman island and I even got pissed at this shitshow even tho I only watch these threads untill we get to the final arc

...and this is Kaidou with hybrid form teeth, but he's still got the big eyebrows and his nose is slightly bigger than hybrid form and slightly smaller than homicidal drunk form. Again, I think it's just him transitioning between forms since he was HD immediately before and hybrid immediately after. I hope this clears up that HD is not just his hybrid form. I'm confident that it is his awakening. Luffy shows that awakened mythical zoans get extra powers, too, so moves where Kaidou cloaks himself in elemental power like demolition twister and great dragon torch or whatever they're called might also be a part of it, just based on the fact Kaidou chose dragon torch to be his finishing move.
