Why do so many anime contain German culture/references in it (occasionally towards WW1 and/or WW2)?
>Tanya the Evil >Girlz und Panzer >Attack on Titan >Jojo's Bizare Adventure >Violet Evergarden >Hellsing Ultimate >Black Lagoon >Izetta: The Last Witch
There are probably lots more out there, but it's telling that I can name this much just from the top of my head...
Germany and Japan are similar in a lot of ways, like strong work ethic, being slowly dying bureaucracies stuck in the 90s, valuing professionalism, etc. They're also both SEVERELY autistic. Like two sides of the same autismo.

Are Karlsland not Kraut enough for you? Are Amestris not Kraut enough for you?
Kraut here - I genuinely hate hearing "German" in anime. Asukas German in Evangelion might as well just be random gibberish. Same with lyrics used in songs. Even with lyrics right in front of me I can't make out a majority of it.
They believe the germans or the german government see them as allies because of WWII as if they were still at war with the rest of the world or something. Plus they like prussian stuff which is cool.
Japan spent most of its modernization stage utilizing Prussian advisors and modeled most aspects of its society on the Prussian model, even the imperialist foreign policy towards Korea and China were suggested by Prussians
