What are some anime only you like?
Anime you think is great but scores 7 or lower on normalfag rating sites like MAL or anilist or whatever.
Yes I know these sites are shit but it's the best way to put numbers on what people like. 7 shouldn't be a low score but somehow 7 seems to be "average" for ratings and 6 or lower is already shit.

One of my favorite shows of all time and it was a commercial failure and scores low on most rating sites.
I remember going to Comiket one year and seeing 3 booths huddled together for this show. When I asked if I could take a look at their doujinshi (non-h) the author was really surprised and asked if I knew it. When I told him yes, that I was a big fan and thought Earth-chan was really cute he asked if he could shake my hand.

People are straight up wrong about both Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 and Dirty Pair Flash for similar reasons. They’re 90s adaptations with a significant shift from their more famous 80s counterparts and people get upset that they aren’t getting what they expected.
But both are good shows with a lot to offer.
2040’s characters are great and the show actually has an ending unlike the OG—and Lina is actually a character. The music is weaker and the art isn’t as good but it makes up for it in other ways.
Flash is every bit as fun as OG Dirty Pair imo and has some fantastic episodes. The World’s World arc in particular is great, and has some fun world building.

The only way 7 wouldn't be a low score is if people finished everything they watched and went out of their way to watch shit they don't think they'll like. But typically people are only going to watch, finish and then rate things they enjoy. So when 7 corelates to "good" on sites like MAL that is going to be the average for most people.
For my stats specifically I have rated 55% a 7 or higher. I have rated 27% between 1 and 6 and I have dropped 18%.
If we pretend I completed all of the shows I dropped and rated them poorly I'd still be 55% rated 7+ and 45% rated 1-6.
7 is the mean score because I generally only pick up shows if I think I will like them. Nobody's rating are going to line up with each point of a 10 point rating system making up close to 10% exactly unless they are insane. That would mean they generally don't enjoy half the things they watch and push themselves through a show they hate 1 out of 10 times. Nobody would fucking do that. If we remove the shows I dropped and do not rate that would be 67% rated 7+ and 33% rated 1-6 mean I actually enjoy 2 out of every 3 anime I watch to completion.

4 is a good score to me. It means it's just below average, but not necessarily bad. It's only 1-3 that I consider varying degrees of bad. Just like 6 isn't a "good" score, it's just a little above average.

It's not one of my favorite or well rated series like the others, but it just liked it. Dunno, the ambience and look just worked for me and I generally like calm characters and the plot was at least there and enough to make me want to learn about it. Nothing great but worked for me.
The Interlude OVA is another case of an anime I liked a lot that is rated low and I have never seen anybody talking about it either.

I like multiple series with scores below 5 and a couple below 4. It isn't that hard if you like shorts as apparently people that know they hate them still watch them, sometimes even if it's a S2 of a show they already didn't like.

This is one of my favourite anime films, but it's something that I never see people bring up. I dont think it's a film people necessarily hated, but I think it's just something nobody cares about. In retrospect, it isnt really remarkable in any way, but it's one of those works that hits me in just the right way to really enjoy it.
I was always surprised by shorts rate so low on aggregate sites. A friend of mine said he doesnt care for them because they dont go in depth/have good development, but I always assumed people could look past that? That's part of the medium of shorts. It's like disliking anime because it's not real people. Idk, maybe I just expect too much of people who rate anime online

I liked the movie too. It looked good, it had good mysteries and an original idea and surprise, I enjoyed it a lot. Like that way better than the usual romance with fantasy elements anime cinema is flooded with.

5-just like 4 but it also has some extremely high highs or it explores some themes more in depth
