Does the political underside of Evangelion freak anyone else the fuck out?
Does the political underside of Evangelion freak anyone else the fuck out?
Frankly it's the cringest part, japs tries to imitate western movies' political twists.
What is there to be freaked out about? That it's all a front and the world is actually run by a death cult?
Yeah, so what about small secretive groups of investors in science projects who found a way to demolish half of civilization, used their foreknowledge of the disaster to massively expand their power, and then controlled what was legal for anybody to say happened.
It's not supposed to be the focus of attention. It's not properly developed either, just some vague info. I mean, they fucked the planet on purpose and there are 0 repercusions for it. Just think about Shinji being depressed.
>hey fucked the planet on purpose and there are 0 repercusions for it
Sounds like COVID panic to me.
Get in the fucking robot, Bill Gates.
>just some vague info
that's the entire series tho
There's unintended similarities, with people only being able to communicate indirectly and with interest groups and big pharma instrumentalizing the common good for their own well-being.
It's kind of more relevant now than it was when it was new, with people becoming more advanced but losing some of their emotional health along the way.
after the last 6 years are you really surprised?
did you forget who got fucking elected as the last US president?
this world is becoming a parody of itself
Honestly they were jobbers and the government would have killed them were it not for Gendo being a simp and unknowingly starting the end anyway.
>HECU vs NERV never
A kabbalist (i.e. Jewish) death cult to be precise.
So basically the Great Reset, with COVID and climate change as the disasters
No wonder Evangelion's politics is never discusssed. It's every Any Forumsack's worst nightmare
There's no way you're this naive. I would say you're underage but I'm pretty sure back when I was in high school I was already pretty cynical about all the fuckery that goes down behind the curtain
ok glowniggers
>The political underside of Evangelion
r u ok m8
we already live in an oligarchy of people that all know each other and support each others special interests, this isn't even a conspiracy, the conspiracy part of illuminati or NERV would just be how organized it is. NERV is directly less scary than the real world because at least their end goal is actually one that is desirable for the everyman
That's something I always liked about Evangelion, oddly enough. Shinji never saw any of that stuff, other than the tanks full of Rei clones. He didn't interact with that subplot at all, because he's a 14-year-old.
Like, he behaved the way an actual person would. He walked into all that stuff halfway through the movie, then weird shit happened and he never really understood any of it.
No.
