Character has le original verbal quirk

>character has le original verbal quirk
This immediately drains any enthusiasm I might have had for a show. Why do nips keep writing characters like this? Who is it for and what does it achieve?

Japanese tends to have much more nuance as a language than english so speech quirks are way more common.
Even the day to day formal speech is hard to replicate in English without sounding weird.

For me and people with good taste. Keep crying.

>OP has autism quirk and overreacts toward completely minor

This, 100%. Sometimes I dubs they won't even try to replicate quirks when speaking because it can sound so strange. That's why alot of ppl wonder why they decided to have his English VA sound the way he did

>le
Does the irony escape you? I'm genuinely curious.

>english VA gives character a speech quirk anyway
>its a whistling lisp

Japanese is a verse terse language, these quirks are the only thing that give characters any personality.

No one cares who you are. No one knows you. If you don't watch it, no one give a fuck. Fuck off and stop complaining

It's good to see that the janitors care about the board.

I struggle to comprehend how people can find Zenitsu's voice annoying but cream their pants over the train faggot's and this dude's voices.

Shonen is usually for children/teens who think funny quirks are what make characters interesting.

I always wondered why fujos like Kimetsu no Yaiba's characters when most of their designs looks horrid and ugly, like this guy for example. They all look like some OC you can find on DeviantArt.

>Poster uses "le"
This immediately drains any enthusiasm I might have had for a thread. Why do faggots keep writing like this? Who is it for and what does it achieve?

user doesn't have an annoying verbal tick? Must be nice. Oh maaan, good for you, good for youuu.

Re:Zero is especially horrible in this regard,

>character has le original verbal quirk
Something like using 'le' in sequences because of own faggotry overload?
Yeah, annoying as fuck, wish faggots like that would grow the fuck up.

finally someone said it, train and this idiot's voices grated the fuck out of me. at least zenitsu had the decency to be asleep both times

???

>male character envious of chad
finally... someone i can relate to

>Japanese tends to have much more nuance as a language than english
Hahahahahahahaha hahahahaha!

It shows you're just a weeb who's never bothered to learn the language. Japanese has much less rich vocabulary than English with far less words to express similar things. Meanwhile there can be 20 + words for the same fucking thing in English, each with subtle differences as several come from numerous different languages that at one point cross pollinated and we're absorbed into English, while in Japanese they compensate for this lack of nuance by using fucking onomatopoeia as adverbs. English is up there as one of, if not the language with the highest vocabulary out of any language in the world, especially given how flexible it is at absorbing other languages. Meanwhile Japanese doesn't even have half as many, and that's even by counting all the foreign loan words they keep borrowing from mostly English to account for how fucking limited their core language is.

Get fucking real with this shit. No way.

bait

Holy based, now tell them how japs see Chinese as strictly more literary/ornate/refined than their own language.

Almost every character in that show has obnoxious "quirky" intonation and goes on tangential incoherent redundant ramblings which contribute nothing to the plot or worldbuilding.

the very few nuances you have into your shitty niggerspeak is only by borrowing words from us frenchGODS, english is literally the language of the poor and the uneducated

To add to this, the redundant ramblings they go on are mostly about "mUh FeeLInGS" which no one cares about.

Do you understand the concept of sarcasm?

I live in Japan and use the language every day. How about you try learning it yourself, and apply it outside your manchild cartoons? You'll have a much stronger appreciation for English when you start to want to write prose in Japanese or try to translate patterns of speech from English speaking characters into Japanese and realize it straight up doesn't work because Japanese is far more rigid in its forms of expression compared to English.
>But muh 4 levels of politeness
Yes, English has this too, it's just not so rigid and with far more nuance to it. English also has far more dialects than Japanese as well. Anyone who says Japanese is richer or has more nuance has no fucking clue what the fuck they're talking about.

Fuck, compare Japanese poetry to English poetry to get a fucking clue. Just the number of things you can do in English that are straight up not possible in Japanese, meanwhile, English is so flexible, it can also do Haiku.

>japs see Chinese as strictly more literary/ornate/refined than their own language
I will keep silent at any weird retarded Any Forums schizo bait about anime or Japan but THIS?Saying that Chinese is more refined than the divine Japanese NIHONGO language? I just can't let that slide
Here's two songs, you decide what sounds more refined
Japanese -

Chinese -

I’ve been studying for 7 months. I currently know about 250 kanji and have some basic conversational skills.

It’s not horribly difficult bros

Just a lot of memory stuff and figuring out how to not have brain read and talk backwards

Their language isn't nuanced, the reason people have defined quirks is because its actually the opposite: Their language is so limited that idiosyncrasies pop up more often. For example, if someone pronounces 'interesting" weird in English (Inchresting) you can go a month knowing this person without ever hearing them say it all fucked up.
But since the Japanese vocab is only 1/10th as robust as English anything they do differently than normal has a 19x more powerful, consistent, definitive impact.

Learn to read, he said the Japs themselves see Chinese as more refined, not that is. Many Japs also see English as the superior language due to how flexible it is. It's only weebs who see Japanese as a language with any form of superiority, when in truth the entire thing is a clusterfuck of a language whose only value lies in preserving culture and tradition. A merit all to its own, but let's not pretend it's not a linguistic mess of a language.

okay

I wonder what kind of direction the voice actors are given with these characters? Is it meant to be a ''theatrical'' overt caricature or it's a thing for kids shows or what?

If you actually read their literature outside of light novels, their serious writers see using Chinese and Chinese loan words as equivalent to our English writers using Latinate formulations, akin to Milton. The Chinese without a doubt see an air of refinement and aristocracy in Chinese that they do not believe is native to Japanese as it is.
