Can we finally admit how garbage Saber is?
>supposedly perfect but also too autistic to understand why shirou loves her
>cruel warmonger but also a shy and pure waifu
>the strongest servant yet still loses to a high school teacher
What do people like about her? There's nothing worthwhile regarding her character.
Can we finally admit how garbage Saber is?
>Urobuchi: Honestly, Saber doesn’t look much like a heroine to me. I can still see traces of the male version of Saber that appeared in the early version of Fate. Because of that mental image, Saber’s relationship with Shirou doesn’t seem like a realistic relationship between a male and a female, but a complicated relationship with a boy who became a girl.
>Nasu: Typical Urobuchi… I really can’t pull the wool over your eyes… (...) Just like Urobuchi-san said, it’s difficult to call the relationship between Shirou and Saber a relationship between a man and a woman. Saber has fought for a long time as the ruler of Britain, but then turned into a girl all of a sudden and fell in love with Shirou. It’s pretty ridiculous when you think about it. But I really wanted to push it towards that sort of boy-meets-girl story. So as a last resort, I had Shirou continually say things to her like “But you’re a girl,” and “Girls aren’t supposed to fight,” in order to remind the users that “she is really a girl.” It’s like the author’s actually the one trying to convince Saber that she’s a girl… I feel like I could have written it a lot better now, but that was the best I could do at the time.
>Uro: There's yet another different type of love depicted in the Sakura route. It really expresses the dark sides that all women have, but how men can accept that and love women regardless. Something akin to the "dignity of men" comes across.
>Nasu: "Romance" is something where a couple blindly pursue each other's ideals. "Love," on the other hand, is something where two people accept each other, including the painful reality that comes with it. There are no ideals to be found there. It's just about coming to terms with reality. Saber and Rin represent the fun and sweetness of romance. But I wanted to express the tragic nature of love with Sakura.
All the FSN heroines are worst girls
>Medusa > Ayako > Medea > Illya > Rin > Arthur > Sakura
if you include HA
>Bazett > Medusa > Ayako > Medea > Illya > Caren > Rin > Arthur > Sakura
if you include Zero
>Iri = Bazett > Medusa > Ayako > Medea > Illya > Maiya > Caren > Rin > Arthur > Sakura > Sola-ui
I really don't get why people still hate her after all these years. Obsessing over Saber and Saberfags is something only a nutjob would do. And not even the most devotedly blind Saberfag could match half of that autism.
based Bazett poster
TLDR Nasu had and still has no idea what he's doing.
>N-no, urobuchi is better for making everything shallow and one dimensional, it's better when it's just a shitty action series!
You've tried so hard.
>a complicated relationship with a boy who became a girl
So Urobuchi talks about how Saber behaves more like a tranny than an actual girl?
what are you talking about? she is perfect
i don't know how they managed to create an even better saber as Castoria
Why do saberkeks flip out every time whenever Uro is brought up?
>urobuchi is better for making everything shallow and one dimensional
Depends on what you mean by that which I suppose is not going full retarded ironic trolling like Nasu did, which is wrong. Uro sets up the conflicts in an objective light while Nasu just shits up whenever retarded bullshit he can think of at the time. If Fate's shitty subversion xD moments are what you like about it then you should check out SoL and romcoms user, leave the seinen stuff for Zerochads.
There are facets of Urobuchi saber I like a LOT.
>initially wanting to simply undo her defeat at Camlann
>being called an idiot by everyone in the cast which made her think of Tristan's departure
>realizing her righteousness is what drove everyone she really cared about away from her when fighting Lancelot
and finally being mindbroken enough to replace her wish with the one she had in FSN.
I liked that arc a lot.
Nasu is just coping with the fact that he had no idea how to turn a male war leader into a cute girl while keeping it consistent and coherent. The line "I feel like I could have written it a lot better now, but that was the best I could do at the time." should tell you everything. Truth is even now he wouldn't know how to write it.
I really like Nakahara's art.
I don't.
>"To die in the King’s arms, before the King’s eyes… haha, like this it is really… as if I am a loyal knight…”
>"You - shouldn't say that - "
>Saber anxiously answered. Before he disappeared, there was something that she needed to tell him. She hoped that he would understand.
>Not ‘as if’. It was ‘indeed is’.
>She wanted to tell him, you are a loyal knight. No one knows better than I—the sincerity you devoted to the country, to the King.
>So there was no more need for self-reproach. Even if it had been a mistake that was not allowed to be made—your character is not something that can be overturned by a single mistake.
>I don’t want to shame you; I don’t want to lose you. Precisely because I have this wish, I can truly deny this so-called crime that you have committed.
>These were Arturia’s true thoughts, but—could not become that knight’s salvation.
>The knight closed his eyes as if sleeping soundly; his body was gradually dissipating. Saber saw that he was about to vanish, but nevertheless could not think of what would be the right thing to say.
>"Lancelot, actually you…!”
>You are not a sinner—but what significance would such words still hold for him?
>Even if someone denied his crime, the one most caught up in this wrongdoing was not anyone else, but Lancelot himself.
>Why had she been unaware of this lonely thought of his? Why had she been unable to release the noble spirit of this knight from a self-reproach that bordered on madness?
Such a great scene
god i fucking hate urobuchi
Why is fate/zero so divisive?
The more commited the fans are to their waifus...
the more personally they take any criticism.
If fate has anything, its a broad range of waifu flavors.
why did saber give a shit about lancelot
he was more of a traitor than mordred who she always gives shit. Mordred was just a dumb kid doing what her mother told her to, lancelot actively did harm out of spite and selfishness. it's literally entirely his fault that her kingdom died. not just in the legend but in her version too. his actions directly led to her fall and is the cause of her believing she's a shit king.
even lancelot realizes this, but saber simps for him anyway.
>people find this sexy
