I HAVE ONLY SEEN THE FIRST EPISODE AND THIS FUCKING SHOW IS THE EPITOME OF THE DANGERS OF OPENING THE HOBBIE AND CULTURE OF ANIME AND MANGA TO A BUNCH OF NORMALFAGS.
Already the first episode asks you to feel any kind of empathy to a bunch of characters, not unlike most animes, but the issue is that the setting is the "real" modern world and the characters are a bunch of normalfags. There's not even the slight overlap between the life of the characters and the people who would be watching the show or reading the manga, there's no way I can relate to them. >inb4 but surely you relate to your invincible shounen and isekai protagonists. No but by setting the world in an inherently more fantastic setting I don't need to relate, just understand the situation they're in.
The only fantastic element is the reincarnation aspect from being in medieval China to modern Japan, so of course I'M SUPPOSED TO RELATE. And it isn't like the main character was a looser in the real world then died and became some broken OP character like most isekais. He was a chad OP brilliant tactician in the past, and now he's still a chad that's good at everything and can adapt easily to any new setting, get a friend and get a new job in just one episode. The other main character is a fucking whore with incredible music talent, a steady job, no social issues, a place to live and friends, and we're supposed to be sad for her for not being e-famous because she was sad one time. Not to mention the whole setting and style of the show is entirely based around night clubs and DJs, normalfag shit normalfags do when they go out with friends. I'm sorry, but if you like this show in any measure or feel you can relate to any of the characters, you aren't an Anime/Manga fan, you're just a normalfag with a hobby to catch otaku ass.
It's been a while I've seen unabashed autism on this board. Please, impart more of this sacred knowledge onto me. I'm curious how long you've stayed in that cave, if only now you think of the dangers of anime being too open, when just a year and a bit ago the kimetsu no yaiba movie made more money than all of the collective capeshit movies of that year, which tend to dominate box offices. Not making fun of you, please tell me, I'd love to find a cave like that for myself.

O yes, the fame of shounen in the west carries most of the blame of people feeling comfortable watching anime . And shounentards (I even like some shounentarding myself) have existed forever, but they knew their place. The problem is western normalfags trying to wear anime on their sleeve NOW, when it's safe to be a "nerd". And here we are, this anime is an anime for PEOPLE WHO DON'T WATCH ANIME outside of what's famous at the season AT BEST. And people who wanna feel like normalfags.

That's... surprisingly cohesive. Other than large shonen and maybe ghibli movies, no other anime.has permeated the globe as much as those two. Taking a different perspective, what do you think of normal japanese people, who aren't really into anime, but occasionally watch something that catches their eye, e.g. an anime about night club singing. Most anime, and the manga they're adapted from, still cater to the domestic audience, and few series have fully started incorporating the world wide appeal, most foreign market which is being targeted by anime is the chinese. Is there a difference to you between a japanese and a western normalfag? Also, what's your opinion on other isekai, centered in medeival settings? A lot of them are wish fullfillment, seem to cater to a niche, but looking at the massive success of an isekai like mushoku tensei, which topped every streaming site it was on, including fucking Disney+, what do you think of that? Is the fact that many normalfags are watching what was supposed to be wish fullfillment catered to hikikomori and NEETs infuriate you?

>Already the first episode asks you to feel any kind of empathy to a bunch of characters That is storytelling 101, by very definition story is trying to make you feel empathy for the characters. Don't care about reliability, it doesn't matter if the story is good. And despite anime and manga being so-and-so in terms of quality. Widely ranging, for once they managed to produce something actually interesting. It being three kingdoms, is only a bonus. In full, you are throwing a temper tantrum because someone you don't like might enjoy the same medium as you. To that I say, you are childish and mature, if you care for opinions of someone else on what they like, that it prevents you from enjoying something.
> this anime is an anime for PEOPLE WHO DON'T WATCH ANIME
No it's not, and the reasons you described as to why that's the case make no sense at all, if you don't like it don't watch it and go on with your life. You're acting as if this is the first anime to be set in "the modern, real world" when that's been a thing since the very begining. Also there's no obligation for the show to make you relate to their protagonists every time, not every fictional character is a blank slate for you to self insert. Seriously, if anything you come off as more of a normalfag than everyone else, wanting anime to be one specific way and not realizing that it varies wildly in terms of themes and setting from show to show.

Most anime, and the manga they're adapted from, still cater to the domestic audience, and few series have fully started incorporating the world wide appeal, most foreign market which is being targeted by anime is the chinese. Is there a difference to you between a japanese and a western normalfag? Well, japanese society is still very repressive of outliers, so it is not as safe to be a "nerd" in Japan as it is in the west. You see them everywhere in Japan but that's just the amount of people, 1% of people in Akihabara is still >>>> 1% of people in anywhere in the US.
>Is the fact that many normalfags are watching what was supposed to be wish fullfillment catered to hikikomori and NEETs infuriate you? Yes. Because they're inherently watching anime wrong. Is like trying to appreciate a horror movie, while watching it in the middle of the day, with friends. You're out of the right setting to enjoy it at it's fullest, except that in this case YOU are the wrong setting.

you're mad because night clubbing is a normalfag hobby but don't mind the thousands of highschool romance shows that have been popular for like 30 years?

Wyatt-sama? Is this the famous "sus" rant poster, here on Any Forums?

Those are MOSTLY made by women, animals with bigger social needs than the human male animal, they need to feel like they fit in. Have you read your average Josei? They're more batshit insane than the edgiest of Seinen.
Jacob Carter
what?
Samuel Clark
Clubbing is degenerate and is a peak normalfag interest. High school romance is often pure and most normalfags aren't interested in reliving their childhood.

I wish anime portrayed historical figures with the full blown autism they had during their life instead of glamorized honorable statues.
