Well there are only like 5 nips left that aren't over 100 years old

More people live outside Japan, dumbass.

How do they make money outside of Japan again?
Please don't tell me it's Crunchyroll.

Merch. Money from streaming is always a blip in comparison.

so that changed recently?

How many of those are from China?

What about muh manga? Does it profit overseas in a significant way compared to Japan?

The fuck happened between 2008 and 2014?

No, it was an inevitability.

No, it's a tiny fraction going to Japan.

its over
we have crossed the point of no return

Naruto, Inuyasha, all that other big sales shounen stuff faded out towards 2010, Soul Eater and Fairy Tail were the last late 00s shounen that kinda "peaked" internationally.
Anime only started resurging UNIRONICALLY internationally with SAO and Attack on Titan, then Tokyo Ghoul and OnePunchman.

*around 2012-2014, so SAO saved (or did it?) anime overseas.

boomer here
the first anime bubble in usa popped in 2007
then in 2013 attack on titan saved anime

housing crisis

Also the Pokemon anime (it sells in like 50 countries worldwide for kids television channels) was in it's dark Gen5 BW filler hell age before the XY season saved the whole ashnime.
Kids shounen anime was basically solely dependent on Bakugan during that time.

Probably like 1/3 to 1/2

please someone post some cope debunk post to ease my heart

what is domestic market?

How do we stop China!?
I don't want otaku culture to be chinified((((....

Domestic means "at home", in this context, in Japan

It should be called Chinese market just in case westerners suddenly start thinking they matter.

Overseas TV stations are starting to license less anime, thing starting to pick up again with the rise of streaming services.

If you don't like the West, don't post on this website
