Seems this is what's filtering a lot of people from this show. They see "Dragon Quest" and assume you have to be familiar with the games or have to like them to get into it.

It's fun and enjoyable. And thats fine. And comfy. And some of the action sequences were genuinely good.
But it's not like there are any deep underlying meanings to be discovered, hidden character drama, or Easter eggs to work out that warrant extended discussion. It's very upfront about what it is, and that's just fine.

Toei's servers got hit about 2 months ago they lost a lot of data. Dragon quest, one piece, and precure didn't have new episodes for about a month and a half.

Nearly everything great about dai is set after the old series. Especially the baran and hadlar's development
