99% of these doujins are so lazy and out of character. Without being in-character it means you could just replace the characters by randos and if you can just replace them by randos without any loss, then it means the doujin is trash that just rides the coattails of success of a series, which makes it no different from half-baked plagiarism.

TenSura does a better job at the "nation building" part than this series. Aside of what said. Slime cover many themes, from SoL, classic isekai adventures to nation building, so there's more chances for people to get into the series due to a specific thing and then stay to enjoy the rest of the story.
