I like Yu-Gi-Oh, but it's weird how Yugi/Atem just bullshits new cards he never had before into his deck. Especially when Duelist Kingdom and Battle City have specific rules to only use the 40 cards you have in your deck.

This massively rubs me the wrong way, and irked me a lot in 5Ds as well, especially since GX didn't do it a tenth as often. It's fine when they provide some narrative excuse, like, a fresh new shounen powerup, or absorbing a demon's energy or whatever translates to a new card, but when they just started using new stuff out of nowhere instead of adapting their current deck as the situation demands, it doesn't feel fights have any integrity. I'd rather see an egregious asspull make a mediocre deck beat a meta one and/or its direct counter than the deck to just be switched out entirely. The latter takes me out of the moment and fundamentally feels even asspullier
