Dabi vs Shoto - wow.... what a shit fight that was
Boku no hero academia
He looks so bored.
Yeah it didn't hit as hard as it could have but Shoto's new technique is pretty cool.
Every fire-type villain in Japan is FUCKED now kek
doesnt seem like it was necessary considering todoroki couldve cooled him down with just ice. it wouldve had the same effect
A boring character vs a jobbing cuck. What did you expect?
Too bad everyone liked it
said no one ever
True. If he used ice from the start with Dabi even in the war, he'd have had a better fight like Geten. But he also just did what he said he'd do from the beginning- denied dad's fire and only used his mom's power. The more stubborn son will win
1. It was awesome
2. It's not over
Boring manga; boring fights.
This matchup heavily favors Shoto just by heat regulation, the only reason he even jobbed the first time was because Dabi got to roast him point blank. Any other situation and Dabi fucking kills himself before Shoto by being weak to his own heat.
I guess the only interest point was that to achieve his goal, instead of just winning enough that Dabi dies, Shoto to get the overwhelming freeze victory in order to actually take Dabi alive (goes without saying that shonen rules mean it's nonfatal for some reason).
too much nakama fagging
This will backfire when Geten arrives
Looks like Shirou vs Kiritsugu from the thumbnail.
>what a shit fight that was
>Shoto, Todoroki and Dabi trending all day
I thought it was Shirou vs Shiki
Haters will hate.
This was a nice capstone to Shoto's character journey through the series. Shoto finally rejected his father's influence not by hating his father, but by becoming his own person.
He cemented his own personhood by making his own signature moves instead of mimicking his father's techniques or spamming ice. He faced down the demons of Endeavor's abuse through Dabi. He found a supportive environment in his classmates when he thought he was trapped his family house's hell. He even escaped repeating his father's mistakes by de-escalating Dabi instead of letting him die like Endeavor did.
Shoto won so completely, so thoroughly, it can only be admired. And he did it not through the brute strength that Endeavor hoped to achieve, but through an inner strength that comes with overcoming personal trauma.
I will nitpick though.
This idea of flashfire being so important should have been introduced earlier. The buildup to this fight is not great either. Shoto also has no business taking on his father's responsibilities, considering that he's the baby of the family and Endeavor is still alive and going strong. Also, the fact that Shoto and Dabi are practically strangers is an emotional deficit. Dabi also is too little of a threat to make the reader worry. Tododrama should have been its own story.
Brainlet here: is Shoto's new move literally just putting a fire shirt around himself so he can draw on more freezing power?
There was a good joke I heard once about Shoto: "His character development was put on ice until Dabi thawed him out"
Shoto was kind of put on the backburner so his father could get screentime, and the development of any of his personal moves or personality was done off-screen.
People are laughing at Dabi for being done under in two chapters, but they're ignoring that Shoto's character arc was hastily wrapped up in two chapters too. The author is *done* with them.
In a way, this fight was a lot of payoff for something with little build up.
No, it's also cooling and heating the blood that passes through his heart to maintain his temperature.
