>The answer is always "Get a job and be a salaryman and accept your miserable life"
Wow, thanks Japan.

Japan is good at many things.
Mental health isn't one of them.

Can't change things if you don't accept your current situation first.

Either you accept your miserable life or you kill yourself

They'd change the answer to "get a girlfriend and start a family" but they know their audience

it can't be helped

Needs to be something easily actionable you can do on yourself first.

>always
There's plenty of anime and manga about leaving the beaten path and finding peace in abnormality. But if you only watch mainstream shit, you're only going to find mainstream messages.

Everybody knows the path to happiness is becoming an antisocial neet

>answer is "kill god, the devil and everything else in your way then begin a new world with your harem"

>the answer is always "get a job and be a salaryman and accept your miserable life"
That’s the only answer because the other alternative is that society is completely fucked up already. So you should either retreat from it in more escapist media or become a radical revolutionary.

It's in top ten for highest suicide rates for a reason

We need more socialist anime

Why not fascist?

name three

We have too much of that already

That's the point, it's all about anti-escapism. You want the message to be something like "you can be whatever you like, become a rockstar!"? The climax is the hero accepting the life as it is, and that you can't escape from it, you must take it head on.

They're not tackling the concept of self-actualization or living your ideal life, the japs see integration with society as the end of a character arc.

Monogatari definitely tackled it

And it was hilarious.

>basement dwelling autists spouting pseudo-philosophical drivel
Good thread.

Yes, let's all discuss the recent sportsball game instead

They are surprisingly awful at everything they claim to be good at. Oh boy do they claim to be good at many things while being mediocre in basically everything they do. Islander mentality at its finest.

Unfortunately that's what it boils down to
Unless you're rich or get lucky and find your passion then there isn't much you can do
You need a job to live somewhat comfortably and everything else is just a distraction until you die
