Manga ending was understandably more happy but he should have kept them swapped and they live with that.
Its pretty much the bad ending. The boy is just coping with his life with, both of them lost contact after college so are literal nobodies to their originsl families. The girl suciding means she killed his body and he can't go back so he regrets not being there for her more. The final panel is literally him in her body losing it crying in the street while his son is going "mommy?" Wondering why is mom is having a break down
