I've heard just about everyone whose opinion I respect rave about how good this anime is but I just don't get the appeal.
The style is cool, but why do they throw a punch and then talk for 12 minutes? Why do they verbally explain what is clearly happening on screen?
Does this change after part 2?

Part 1 is boring
Part 2 is mostly boring
Part 3 is GOAT
Part 4 is good, but bad pacing

That's the style. Also, read the manga instead, it looks better and this type of thing is less jarring.

Depends on who you ask, IMO Part 2 is the best part and its gonna pick up soon IMO with an upcoming fight. That said, you have seen the core of what Jojo is at this point, if you actively don't like it then it might not be for you but IMO wait it out a little longer. Stands aren't even in Part 2
Netflix didn't ruin the anime it just ruined the release schedule. Instead of releasing one episode a week they released 12 at once and fucked off until later this year or so. Kinda kills the hype.

this isnt for you. part 3 gets even worse with what you say. i love jojo and i can admit that it has its faults. the fight will go like this.

this all takes 15 minutes to happen
You forgot the part where either the bad guy or the good guy says they had predicted the other would pull that move and had already prepared a counter beforehand, but then the other says they had predicted their counter and comes up with a counter counter. This all takes place in 0.75 Jojo seconds and I love it
