Third movie came out that reignited the series. Also, fujos dont care about the writing, see JJK and Tokyo Revengers.

Furuhashi did it well enough, while Hori tried to avoid commenting it as much as possible. In terms of manga Beastars did a decent commentary on discrimination and if you compare works you can see in how much Hori's lacking. There isn't much beyond Dabi's discrimination of Spinner or the DESPIST meme used unironically.
