No, the last one was great. Agree that 22 could have been skipped, only the Despa/Desha scenes were worthwhile. Nobody cares about Daida and Miranjo's end would have been actually emotional if she died happily and left.

This would've been perfect. She's forgiven and has peace and Daida comes out of his situation humbled and a better person and free of his weird obsession with the mirror/Miranjo. It's almost as if the writer wanted to punish her by not letting her go to the afterlife and be with Bosse forever. Instead, she has to stay alive and marry this boy she never cared about.

The manga isn't over, but the end of the Miranjo-Bosse arc plays out the same way.

There are consequences and characters die or suffer in this series. It's on you to decide whether that makes Miranjo's salvation better or even worse.
As much as I disliked the solution myself people should pay more mind to Despa's words here. Miranjo lives because death would have been like escaping. She lives to carry her guilt and prevent others from doing the same mistakes she did.
My central problem isn't that she was saved so much as more that she skips a few steps and becomes the queen of all things. I would have much preferred her to be just an advisor or the local mage instead. Being queen and having worst son simping for her is what was the overkill here.
tl;dr it's Daida that sucks, not Miranjo herself

I don't know. She played a big part in how Daida grew up so if he sucks, then that falls partly on her. Then there's Bosse and Apeas' simping for her which made them bad characters because they just had to make her happy at all costs. She's connected to all the bad characters.

True. It's fun how she's some sort of black hole of sympathy that turns every character more to shit the closer they are to her. Bosse, Daida and to a lesser degree Apeas. It matches.
The least connected characters would then be Despa, Desha, Bojji and Kage which would mean they had to be the best characters of the show. See?

What happened to Despa at the bar when he got beat up the first time? He said the guy called him camel face and the ones who beat him up when Bojji and Kage were with him called him camel face, too, but that fight was a set up so it couldn't have been the same group. Maybe it's just a well-used insult in the Underground.
