Unironically piss off. Fire Kino is one of the best manga out there. The Star Wars references do bring down its quality a little bit.

What the fuck was the point of all the movie references?

The mangaka trying to appeal to normies.

Fire Punch on the surface is a revenge story, but in reality it's a story about how we consume media

Every fucking time.

elaborate on that

user, Fire Punch is a story about being yourself.

It's about being a real human bean.

I really don't get this manga. So he just wanted to fuck his sister? is that it?

Mostly I was impressed with the art. It was really good. The story was just lifted from like 10 different genres. It was clear he loved movies of all kind. The story for me ended after Togata.

FP showcases how we interact with media through different characters, for Togata films are all that's keeping the suicidal thoughts away and are used to mostly pass time, for Judah & Behemdolg films are used as propaganda, they derive meaning and purpose from said popular culture because without it they are directionless, it's no longer just fiction to them, in Agni's case he is essentially put in the role of a film's protagonist, his life is more or less shaped by the medium itself, many storylines are imposed on him, be it the revenge arc or the cult one, but the progression of the manga showcases him gradually freeing himself from these roles , Togata early on is basically assuming the role of a film director, outlining the expected hooks the story should traditionally follow, yet Agni keeps doing the exact opposite of what she says, he's like a semi-conscious character trying to break free from the story he's been put in.
Doma at one point breaks free from Behemdolg's propaganda only to be torched in a very cynical and slightly ironic narrative twist that is there simply for Agni to break free from the role of the protagonist that was imposed on him.
it is, it's kind of highlighted through a comparison to acting near the end of the story, I think the best part of the manga is him looking at the FP version of himself in that theater near the end.
Fire Punch's use of movies is so fascinating on a couple of re-reads, it was clearly made by someone who enjoys movies and not just for the sake of novelty.
