They're a mile better than Millipensee for sure. It still has the issue of a lot of shots being directed like a 2d show, which doesn't make use of a lot of the benefits that CG can provide (always being on-model, dynamic camera work, relatively easy background character animation).
Now, it does have some scenes that really make use of it, like Heaven's Bullet. Here's hoping for more shots like that.

Also, lots of stuff seems to be metaphorical. This episode was clearly metaphor for division of Berlin during Cold War. And the train line was meant to be Berlin wall with closely guarded checkpoints.
