The first two seasons are all build-up and set-up for the arcs covered in the third which is garbage, don't bother with the anime.

Here's the difference. Every single show has people who just hate it. You're one of those people.
Your opinion here is worthless because you're part of the minority that hates the show.
If user has shown interest in the show it's probably because he is going to like the show. So he wants to know what parts of the show are best from people who have already seen it and liked it.

Railgun is nowhere close to being the best the franchise has to offer, maybe OP will feel the opposite but calling it, "the gem of the franchise" is definitely misleading.

i don't really feel the quality is all that different. i prefer Railgun's stories (or it's perspective of them) and characters but that is mostly because i can't fuckin stand Index as a character, but even she has her moments - it's the same with Kuroko when she's not being a simp she can be quite interesting. Index III was a fuckin mess still though.
