Why did VN adaptations die out?

Why did VN adaptations die out?

Because it's all about Light and Webnovels now.

We've had this thread last week

Must have missed it

Because there's no good VNs lately. Moege isn't popular anymore, people want isekaishit.

They still pop up every now and then in a lesser scale.

What hairstyles is this?

Because routes are trash in an ongoing, non-interactive format.

Visual novels are different from light novels?

When is this happening, again? Is there a date?

Nah, it's gacha games.

>Why did VN adaptations die out?
Because fan translations died

>Where did the fan translators go?
They broke up, quit, or got sued into oblivion

>How did that happen?
Because Jacob from fakku was a jew and pulled a judas on all the clubs, groups and websites. Killing growth and expansion of fan translations, that continues to this day.

Yes, this july I think.
If dash is any indication it'll be shit though (the things kimijima do at the end of it seems to be related to world layer stuff and it's the worst sciadv finale so far)

>implying EOP have any influence on the market

As someone who has played their fair share of VN's, I can tell you that the medium isn't doing so great in general. They are already very niche in Japan, and more so in the west. Since the loyal fan audience is lower, it's more risky to spend millions to adapt one.
Then there are the issues with adapting the medium into a 12 episode anime. VN's are long. Moege are usually 15 to 25 hours if you read at a steady pace, and plotge can be 50+ hours. Then you have to consider that most VN's have multiple routes, which can be difficult to translate to the anime medium in a satisfying way. Sex scenes also make it difficult, but recent anime have been getting more blatant about sex, so maybe this will change.
Honestly, I think that people who read/watch romance manga/anime would enjoy VN's more, but because of the stigma of H-scenes, they don't even try. It's nice to have romance stories that don't just end at a confession/kiss scene. Rooting for the best girl is fun, but in VN's, she can win.

The VN is set to be release in 7/22 assuming no delays.

Key died

You'd be surprised at how different it feels with just a soundtrack and art.

Too bad, the archive exists.

Sorry its 7/28
They are still making VN and gacha.

They didn't VNs and their adaptations have simply evolved into a better state.

Visual novels are much shorter than light novels, plus they're complete stories. Much less point in advertising.
