On March 29, the Okazaki Branch of the Nagoya District Court sentenced manga artist Kenya Suzuki, 40, of Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, to one year and two months in prison with a three-year suspended sentence (with a one-year and two-month prison sentence requested) for importing a photo book of child pornography from Germany.
Judge Hiroshi Ishii noted in his ruling that the defendant "committed a malicious act that encouraged sexual exploitation of children and harmed the soundness of society. On the other hand, he suspended the execution of the sentence, taking into consideration the fact that the defendant had received a certain level of social sanction.
According to the verdict, in September and October 2020, he had a photo book containing naked children sent from Germany by registered mail and imported.
The defendant's representative works include "Oshiete! Gyaruko Chan" and others.
Suspended sentence. Basically, he’s free to go on probation, but if he does something else that gets him arrested in that three year period, he’ll serve the year+2 months. Means the court doesn’t want to deal with all the shit that goes with incarceration. Unless he fucks it up he won’t go to jail at all. Which is good, because he should get back to drawing teenage girls instead of looking at prepubescent ones
