How does someone go from writing a literary masterpiece to this amalgamation of garbage?

After a few failed attempts I've finally managed to start watching this show and it's hard to believe that it's written by the same author. The only thing that keeps me watching is trying to come up with theories on how did someone fall so low from the pinnacle of the writing industry.
1.Did he have a stroke after finishing oreimo?
2.Did his ego get so inflated from the success that he thought he doesn't need to try to write good anime anymore?
3.Did he get mad about the inconclusive ending of oreimo and wanted to redo it by avoiding the troublesome parts, but was too lazy to do a proper job and just rushed through it?
What happened to first building up characters and making me feel connected to them and then inserting drama? How am I supposed to care about unrelatable characters that I only saw for a few minutes before they started having conflicts?
Also what is this knockoff imouto supposed to be? No shared shared past (cause she doesn't leave her room) and no blood relationship... Even worse than a childhood friend.
What even is the point?
And she's in love with her onii-san from the first episode? What? (Yes it was the same in oreimo, but it wasn't revealed until much later, leaving a lot of room for progression, at least from the audience's perspective)

It is just too deep for you.

well that's the other reason I'm watching the show

Have you considered that maybe he just wanted to make a quick buck?

Considering how the MC is a self-insert that lacks any trace of passion for writing, that's actually fairly possible.

Both were an amalgamation of full otaku garbage wdym?

That cameltoe is fucking massive, just saying.

is that a nappy

Here's your (You), retard.

How does one go from writing one shit self-insert harem to another self-insert harem.

She spends a lot of time alone in her room.

NBR curse.

the character designer for this shit also became garbage after oreimo

Oreimo was always a shitshow, user. Admittedly that is what makes these shows interesting.

How the fuck did they get away with 14yo cameltoe?

This, same thing happened to the imoimo writer, though in his case I can understand the anime took its toll.

I was more into Oreimo for its pro-otaku anti-normalfag message than the romance.

you got both which is what makes it kino

To get away with something you first need to do something wrong.
