It took me a few months longer than intended but here's my translation comparisons workbook intended as an aid to creating a more definitive English subtitle for Neon Genesis Evangelion. Take a look, and make a submission yourself if you're interested in helping make this the best English release of the series to date: mega.nz/file/PwJxkbiR#6HnoTbtybiXRhhb3d27Gw0U1iHlCEWicx61j9qIEQeQ ^ Spread this document far and wide to any anime fan communities you know, but preferably English-speaking, non-American, and non-zoomer ones.
Meanwhile, the project to restore episode 16 is coming along great, turns out the pre-Renewal JP DVDs have a little more picture quality compared to Archives so we're using that release as the main source now other than the BD. The guy working on that has also had some great results recently using AI and the few cel scans we have available to perform colour correction, besting Sephirotic's.
Those are just automated tests, so they're not at all final yet. Some shots will have the obvious artefacting etc. associated with AI-upscaling and be unusable, of course; the idea is that we'll use the best-looking source for each shot to stitch together a shot-by-shot 'best available version' of episode 16 in the end.
Thats really impressive upscaling work. Great job on that so far. Can't say I'd know much about the translations side of things.

How long before work on the color corrected version will be finished? It's really impressive.

I'm really surprised at how well it worked out.
I have no idea, though I'll probably release it before OP's subs. Shouldn't be that long, and unlike pwnsweet I'll actually release it sometime soon. I've also done some testing with CCing the entire series which would take longer if it works out imgsli.com/MTAxNjQ1
