Why does the artwork in long running manga always turn into storyboard-tier scribbles by the end?
Why can authors never negotiate a better schedule despite making their company lots of money?

contracts.

Burnout, less pressure to do great because they’re already popular
> Why can authors never negotiate a better schedule despite making their company lots of money?
They can but it seems there is an ego thing and they also want to finish asap, taking more breaks means doing the series longer.
It’s really said seeing Oda’s art degrade over the years. OP from ch 1 up until the timeskip was absolutely amazing. But then after that timeskip it’s like all of those years of insane overwork started catching up to Oda and now his art, as well as his writing, is near unrecognizable.
Even Toriyama’s art massively degraded by the end of DB, and he only did DB for 9 years. Oda has been doing it for 25 years. Kishimoto did it for 15 years.
To be fair ever since Shippuden Kishi wasn't really known for his lineart or detailed characters. He played more with perspective and angles.
>Ippon Again is at 164 chapters
>weekly series
>rarely misses updates, usually only for holidays most series would be off for
>art is still high quality
Maybe realize there's a world beyond Jump.
Your picrel is part 1? He played with perspective more in part 1.
Shonen authors have to write the script, storyboard, and draw all in one week. Their schedule is filled to the brim, they don’t have time to scribble hairs on a chin
Dragon Ball's art gets a bit inconsistent during the Buu Saga, but it's excellent throughout.
>moeshit
To the trash
People need deadlines to get anything done.
Give some mangaka 2 weeks, and they'll just say they need 3 weeks and they'll keep pulling this shit until it takes them months to produce a chapter.
That's how you get a Togashi
I don't think Oda problem is overwork, I think it due to his habit of cramming pages with reaction face and cutting back and forth between multiple characters/ It was fine when there are less characters in an arc but now it just became a clusterfuck
Nah dude's right.
He started to really up his game in the sasuke retrieval arc and this carried on into early part 2.
He only started to get super lazy around the end of the pain arc
That is only true to an extent, a week for one chapter with the same person writing and drawing is simply too crammed regardless.
It isn’t just that. Character designs are worse, everything is flat like a gag manga, even his line density is thick and ugly.

Japanese mentality. Everyone is conditioned from birth to be a perfect slave, that's why they have the lowest birthrate and one of the highest suicide rate.
>this is what capitalists actually believe
Japan doesn't even make the top 10 in suicides anymore
They were just ahead of their time, everyone else caught up
Well the trannies era pretty much fucked up every countries suicide rate
It's true to some extent. Some artist take way too long to polish their stuffs to the point of the companies start losing money. Just look at Duke Nuken Forever, the dev literally took decades to complete the game due to keep scrapping their works to chase better tech. Or Victor Hugu who literally took the publisher money and then didn't write his book until they gave him a deadline.Creative type need someone to reign them in
Lines I get, what's with the circles?
That probably explains why swedens "female" suicides are so high.
Though they're not that different from japan's, is japan taking the trannie pill too or do their women just have balls in the metaphorical sense?
It's a serious spokon. The first tournament starts within 10 chapters and the most recent tournament in the raws ran for like 60. The current one where the English translation is is like 30 chapters long. The SoL stuff is mostly a few chapters inbetween tournaments and like one every so often inbetween rounds as a breather.
