Unironically this is the best powerup luffy couldve gotten. Not some edgy lose control of my self trope thats been repeated for ages, nor some asspulled advanced new haki. This fits luffy and one piece perfectly, "joy boy"s power being to literally bring joy is consistent. stay mad powerlevel fags and edgelords.

-It was known that Luffy just had a rubber rubber fruit and the connection wasn't made yet
-Who'sWho is the only person that has pieced it together after Luffy made an appearance after the time skip was over
-He didnt even announce this information until recently anyway
- there was enough small hints (as loose as they may be) through out a 1000+ chapter manga that makes this powerup believable and not realm breaking
-99% of the excuses and anger towards it have seriously come from speed-readers and shit-posters
