Yeah I don't think I've ever seen an anime adaptation of a novel where they actually follow the book, they made this huckleberry finn anime in like the 80s or 90s and like it was like just a fucking slice of life, no adventuring, fuck the japs, they are too fucking lazy at being creative to do create stories with layers and nuance
