I liked the show but it may have my least favourite opening of all time. God that song fucking sucks
The 1969 op is a lot more fun.

I miss you, Hyakkimaru.
You hate it or love it.
GIVE ME FIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
And then they got the most generic shonen OP of all time.
Hyakkimaru got fucked over unnecessarily hard. The fucker wasn't even dead until his mom decided to drag him into her suicide.
That was my only problem with the anime. At least make him dead after the fight or have him actively decide.
The way they directed it, he has a head injury, can barely move, wakes up for a brief second only to have his mom say he has to die, looks upset, reluctantly accepts the 2 seconds of dialogue directed at him, and then dies.
Now post the BDs
Great series. I love the original opening for the black and white series. Hoge hoge tara tara hoge tara pon.
I'M SO SERIOUUUUUUUS

The electric guitar part carries it for me.
Debate this.
Debate what? He's correct.
Hyakkimaru purging the demons to get his soul back is also correct.
His actions weren't wrong per say, but his motivations were. It wasn't about saving his people, it was about saving his Fife so he could remain in power.
He was also morally wrong because he didn't actually hesitate the way a morally righteous person forced or tricked into something reprehensible for the greater good.
His only immediate concern is that his potential heir will be taken. And he isn't too concerned about that once he gets confirmation that the deal went through.
He gleefully ignores the wishes of his wife (to hold the baby until it dies). Which also illustrates that what he's saying in this scene is bullshit.
You don't need a high reading comp level to understand that he's not "a goes person doing bad thing for the greater good". He's straight up an evil character.
To further highlight the bullshit, notice the difference between him and Hyakkimaru. Hyakkimaru is the one to actually put this line of philosophy into practice by actually interacting with and understanding his people. Thus, his ambitions are actually the people's ambitions in practice.
Where as the Lord is just a typical power hungry narc.

Been a while
What about the second opening though? I think it's pretty good
Behold my opinion
