It's not really divided. If you look at comments with a lot of updoots it's all positive. There's more negative reception than usual, and those people search negative comments which makes it seem like the reception is mixed. 9/10 because it loses a point for the asspull df. We can argue but Nika was brought up in this arc alone and the convienent plot twist kind of cheapens this fight. How ever I give it a 9 because at least it's a power up never used before for an MC in a serious situation.
If you are gonna make your MC over powered, then I'm glad it's a toon power and not some edgy power.

THEORY/FANFICTION DOGSHIT:
Since there are inferior and superior versions of the same fruit, like ton-ton vs kilo-kilo or magma vs fire, it stands to reason there is a dogshit version of the rubber-rubber/gomu-gomu, and it's just a regular old paramecia. Due to a fault in communication the WG was accidentally sending admirals and huge number of troops after the guy with this fruit, who's actually very weak, and his only skill is hiding/running away using his rubber powers (sort of like luffy combined with ussop).

The outcome of the story and every conflict has always been obvious, no reason to take it so seriously, I'd rather something fun and interesting which was the whole reason I've been reading it anyways.
