Okay.
Turn it into a harem.
Make it a long running series adapting all the games and chronicling the history of Strangereal.
Studio is prime Sunrise.
Music by the composer of ping pong the animation.
Have it be about Brave Belkan fighter aces stopping O*Ean Scum from taking clay
God I wish we got a proper release of this in the West
I never played this series how do I get started
ACE7 if your pc can handle it.
Emulate trinity (4, 5 & 0).
Play JP ACE3 with the EN patch.
AVOID ASSAULT HORIZON.
We do the story of the game, but from the perspective of the enemy fodder losing their shit at the titular ace.
The first part of the story is a comfy military SoL, and doesn't even have the ace mentioned, but as the story progresses you see hints in the background, rumors and set dressing that hints at the existence of the ace. Eventually you see the ace doing kulbaits in the background, with the war stories surrounding them becoming more and more prevalent.
There's an air of tension where the characters try not to acknowledge the looming threat of this devil ace getting closer and closer to the area they're stationed in, they try not to think about all the dudes who tried to face the ace and fell.
This tension explodes in a huge climax where the fodder finally encounter the ace and get shot down in spectacularly well-animated fashion.
While I think the big thing would be to not show the ace actually doing stuff in the foreground until it's time, that'll probably be a weakness that would turn people off if they don't get their "cool shit" fix fast enough. That being said, an anime tie in should first and foremost set up and flesh out the world, since the game will take care of the action part plus extra change, so having it start out as a SoL doesn't sound so bad.
Oh, and have the guy who directed 86 do this, he's definitely got the chops and a passion for this brand of bleeding-edge sci-fi military stuff. Of course, you'd have to get someone really great to do the character design and whatnot to get the audience to care about em.
What said, but if you're looking for the very most recent hotness and dip your toes with all the bells and whistles and QoL features from the get go, you could try Project Wingman which people have more or less assimilated within the Ace Combat sphere for being directly inspired by it.
You can kinda pick up at any point.
The first three are on PS1 and aren't necessary. AC3 is available through emulation with the full story. The western release is majorly cut down and has almost no story.
The three PS2 releases (AC4, 5, and Zero) are the Holy Trinity of the series. Easily available either on PS2 or emulation.
PS3 generation was mostly skipped. It got an online only game on PS3 and AC6 on Xbox360 but it was shit and most people don't bother with it.
AC7 was the next proper game in the series. Kind of a return to form to the Holy Trinity days.
There were a couple on PSP that were well received but idk if they are available through emulation.
If planes scare you and you don’t have time then just emulate Zero. It’s short and sweet. Else, holy trinity first by release order, then play whatever.
>AC6 on Xbox360 but it was shit and most people don't bother with it.
Bitch I'll cut you.
ACE6 has the best gameplay in the entire series.
So basically AC4 from the perspective of a late war member of Yellow Squadron?
>Bitch I'll cut you.
go dance with the angels, dork
Cheers thanks. I actually tried the Project Wingman demo years ago and really liked it especially the music. Shame I got busy and didn’t play its full release. main reason I wanted to get into AC is for the fun stories. I did play a lotta plane games as a kid but I can’t say the campaigns were the most emotional. Now all I wanna do is just feel man. So I guess I’ll start from 4 when I get the chance
Build more on this Have the rookie be wingman of an ex-yellow. Get him do cool stunts to ease the audience into the ridiculousness, then in the last few episodes, hit them with the AC protagonist and his shenanigans. Complete with utter panic from both the vet and the rookie.
Ohhhhhh that's good. Like a bait and switch where someone who doesn't know anything about AC wouldn't know who the titular Ace is and thinks it's the one they first meet until the real Ace shows up and sucker punches em.
That's definitely fucking something. I'd scream.
Isn't this just Sky Crawlers?
AC4 had a very sympathetic antagonist and also did a really good job of undercutting how OP you felt as the protagonist by hitting you with those little things like how Yellow 4's engine was damaged or how when you fought 13 (even though you were fighting for your life) he was flying a disrepaired plane and poor fuel.
I think it would be a good fit. Show the struggle of the rookie always fighting on the back foot, doing rearguard actions, and dealing with worse and worse supplies and fuel.
Then at the last episode you have a big ENTER moment (like how you felt playing 4 when they finally let you face the Yellows) and the protag has to struggle with his worn out plane to hold him off for just a little longer while the ground forces are retreating only to get shot down and have to watch the Ace tear apart his squadron mates as he drifts to the ground after ejecting.
