Okay, Any Forums. Why is it that fairly 'normal' protagonists over time gets retconned into being super special when it was clearly not planned from the beginning?
Are we seeing in Manga what we see in all of human story-telling? Hercules was just some tough guy, but because we can't imagine such strength without divine origin we give him a secret origin?

The Fourth Hokage is shown since the second arc and it was obvious to anyone with a brain he was related to Naruto from design alone.
Because, after 1000 chapters, the author is creatively bankrupt yet needs to keep the story moving to keep the money coming. Nobody has ironclad plans for their story 20 years in advance. It's unavoidable, and if it bothers you, read shorter manga.
The only thing about Ichigo that was special in the beginning was his ability to see ghosts. Likely the only secret backstory was that he was half-shinigami and by the end he was a mix of every major spirit-race. Naruto was also supposed to be the son of the Fourth, clearly, but he ended up becoming a reincarnation of a demi-god and the savior of ninja-kind. Now we're seeing the same with Luffy.

What I most enjoy about these threads about "the special one" are all the mentally ill tards that rush in to try construct some half-assed argument why how in their favourite series, there's no retconning and they were special since the start or whatever.

At most, Naruto was planned as the Fourth kind, but being the Child of Prophecy and the incarnation of a god was just added bullshit in the latter par t of the second half.
