I have been fearful of anything related to One Piece for over a decade now. I don't know why you guys continue to deny that this series obviously got worse after the timeskip. All the best arcs are before the timeskip and the two absolute worst ones (Dressrosa and Wano) are after.
It just feels like sunk cost fallacy to deny it at this point.

1043 and 1044 have been the first time I've been legitimately uncertain about the future of the series. The manga has definitely declined since the timeskip, especially in wano, but overall it was mostly still true to itself and in the grand scheme of things was still set up to have a solid final stretch.
However, these revelations threaten the thematic consistency of OP in such a blatantly bad and extreme way that it sours many of the great chapters that came before. It's made me believe that Oda lied when he said he planned out OP from the start, or at least that he has changed his mind since.
This makes the quality of the ending unpredictable. Before I'd say there was no way the ending of OP would be truly bad on the levels of snk: disappointing at worst. Now, all bets are off and it could absolutely finish in a dumpster fire.

Have to agree with this, unfortunately. It's not just the writing either. Paneling and character designs got way overdesigned and cluttered as well.
(Almost) all the post timeskip designs look nice, but only individually. The strawhats as a group lost the neatly designed, distinct silhouettes that made the overall artstyle work so well.
