Yes it's pretty fucking shit. Cant believe someone straight copy pasted bunch of philosophical quotes just to statpad its script. It's the anime equivalent of getting too high up in its own ass, then it goes straight to its digestive system, then into its throat and then finally out of its mouth.

It's not my first time watching it but, even if it was, the fact he was released in 2004 isn't really an argument. The first movie was released in 1998 and it hasn't aged one bit; the way it presented its themes was much more elegant while Innocence constantly pulls cryptic "philosophical" quotes out of his ass and rubs them in your face in the most pretentious possible way
