I don't think there's a moral distinction between lolicon and shotacon, but I do believe there to be a different motivation behind the consumption of each type of porn.

These are just my generalized observations, and I do not claim that this 100% accurately reflects reality.

I feel that people consume lolicon because they enjoy projecting themselves onto the older character (usually male). There's often an aspect of "deflowering", and dominance is a large aspect of why people might be attracted to lolicon.

I feel that a lot of people (straight shotacon consumers especially) consume shotacon because they enjoy projecting themselves onto the younger character. It's a way to project your current sexual fantasies onto a more vulnerable yet version of yourself. It's living through your childhood sexual fantasies through the lens of adulthood.

But that's just me. I might just have to take my meds.
