Previous: Chapter 26 - Everyone with Their Own Plans

Just in case you thought there wasn't enough characters to keep track of already, it's time to meet some new ones.

Given the focus on the unique features of his eyes, my assumption is that he's really Krishna and Krishna was also Linus from earlier in the story. So Amelia's unknowingly putting herself in a lot of danger.

I'll also say that it feels like the timeline is off. The whole thing with Faris happened, I believe, like a thousand years ago or something like that and if it's been centuries they shouldn't be surprised that Adelbaide is doing well. Feels like it makes a lot more sense if everything happened within the last 2 centuries or so.

So I guess the Alexandra/Ulysses factions are working together against the other prince, presumably with either Alexandra becoming Empress or ruling as regent through Ulysses and these two are part of that group.

I think I remember it being like 300 years ago in the chapter where Scarlet talks about her mom. If I remember right there were multiple points on the timeline, where Adelbaide became an autonomous part of Faris a really long time ago, then broke away from Faris during the breakup of the Empire which was more recent.

Also this stuff can happen fast. In the 1600s, England was still nominally off on its own and definitely not anywhere equal to Spain, France or even the Netherlands. By the middle of the 1800s, it was the greatest power in the world with a globe-spanning empire.
