I know we're getting the 2nd movie on blu-ray soon, but I'd love the entire series available. Thankfully TMS has been uploading episoded on YouTube.

I wish they did a full remaster for S1, the art style is good but the quality is stuck in 2007 encodes

No but I might.... tomorrow

I remember the pure cinnamon roll.

Who's Joe?

Sometimes I think Ashita no Joe deserves another anime adaptation. Then I remember that would be more a condemnation of its legacy than a tribute.

Joe Yabuki, from the critically acclaimed shonen manga Ashita no Joe.

Jimi Hendrix was still alive and singin' "Hey Joe" when Joe was being published. Damn

I'll always be mad.

Hell, he was alive when the first anime was airing

So much soul. Outsiders fighting for a future just like the post WW2 Japan of the time.

I was rereading that one scene where yoko was reenacting the Hunchback of Norte Dame and Danpe being whipped, which I felt was pretty random. I realized that this scene parallels how boxing is just breaking a fighter’s body for the amusement of others. Blows my mind that kajiwara and Chiba were exploring the brutality of boxing pretty early on

about a year ago the bluray came out where they remastered the entire series
