Oh yeah, and there's the part where we're led to think that the heroine went back in time and undid the hero's death when he got capped by an evil-ass gangster who cut off the secondary hero's arm and sold the secondary heroine into prostitution, but the truth is that she jumped into an alternate universe where none of that happened, so by all accounts, all her friends are still dead, dismembered, and/or selling their bodies in this other universe.

Really clever strategy, too. He can keep his pie and eat it by putting a doppelganger to work on a sequel while moving onto a new series himself. Akamatsu should have done that for Negima.
