I think "Joy Boy" is similar to our conception of the Buddha. To become a Buddha you need to achieve spiritual enlightenment, to become Joy Boy you need to reach true spiritual freedom. It's an inversion on destiny and being chosen, to be a Joy Boy you need to be the freest man in the world.

Its gonna be the split personality thing, and his third zoan fruit will be the bird bird fruit model:phoenix. Marco is getting highlighted this arc because they want to make his death more impactful. Think about it too, Blackbeards logia fruit is the only one that doesn't make him invulnerable. The phoenix fruit not only fixes this, but gives him even better defence. Unlike a normal logia, this fruit pretty much hard counters haki. It would also let him fly. With his super high endurance and stamina, blackbeard would be invinsible. The strongest attack(quack quack fruit), the ability to supress devil fruit (darkness fruit), gravity attacks (Darkness fruit), flying (phoenix), and invisiblity (phoenix). Also I couldn't imagine him stealing any other zoan fruit, it would complicate his powers too much.
