Sandro did Kokuro so dirty in the process, instead of getting a good match out of both of them, he just gets choked out with no diff. Him and Koga deserved better out of that fight. But honestly, I would've preferred to watch the rise of Koga and introducing the new generation THEN selecting the Supernovas out of them. Not just hotshotting Koga into the high tiers and skipping any development.

Sandro was never a great writer per say, but he did know how to write compelling moments and characters. In Asura this was more blatant. But even back then he had a strong reluctance to kill characters. Almost all of the people he killed off in Asura were just fakeouts later unless they were blatantly evil like Meguro. I thought originally since there was clearly a sequel series being planned that he was going to use them there. But just as is the case in Asura it's only antagonists being wiped out, unless it's a major red herring and we're going to have massive amounts of character deaths soon.

Why didn't Fei kill Wakatsuki? He gives him multiple chances to surrender. And it's not like he gave a shit about Purgatory I think he himself knew that his position in the organisation was fucked.

Agito vs Kuroki was the climax of the tournament, and Ohma vs Kuroki was the emotional climax of Asura.
I remember when people praised Sandrovich for making the "this move uses up your lifespan" technique actually kill its protagonist. Good times.
Ohma's death really was the perfect sendoff to his character. Now that's he's been brought back to life he has even less personality than before.
During the Lolong fight he even tried to shove in a stupid flashback to pretend that he had character development. But nothing that Ohma does after Ashura will ever live up to his initial death scene. Nothing.
Anyone else finding it hard to trust Sandrovich recently? What's the point of showing us a threat building, or a character growing when you can just do another timeskip and have the threat/character fully built up? Hell, Gilbert probably looks exactly like Edward by now. I just can't bring myself to care about the story these days.
Koga already got an official match lost
What Koga really needed was a fight with someone a little out his league after some training chapters. He needed his Raian vs Ohma fight where he really has to knuckle down and fight someone who's a wall that will test everything he has. People loved Ohma cause he struggled and fought like hell to make it to finals, giving Koga an easy win against Kokuro is a huge disservice to both characters.
Ironically Ryuki got this fight with Naidan, while Koga got the equivalent of a participation victory.
