Post 2000s appreciation thread

Sick and tired of pretending like modern anime isn't genuinely great.

Since the 2000s we've had a lot of great stuff. People are complainaing about the past few years though when they say that modern anime isn't great anymore.

2000s anime are great.
2010s are utter dogshit.
Simple as that.

your taste is utter dogshit, retard

>not liking the best decade since the 70s
Sucks to be you, friend.

About 28 decent works in the span of 2 decades, while still being inferior to the great works of old.

Wow what a golden age of anime user, anime is totally not in decline.

OP should include Attack on Titan and Your Name both great works that are original and embody the 2010s zeitgeist.

The problem with good new animen is that people are apparently ashamed of it.

was the bayonetta anime even good?

Also no one says post-2000 anime is all shit, it's just inferior and it gets worse by the year. The 2000s being afar better decade than the 2010s.

People who don't realise that the 2010s are the best decade for anime are just people who dismiss anything slightly experimental or unique and only watch the most popular action shows of each decade. Obviously cowboy bebop is better than SnK and Demon slayer and that shonen shit, but those aren't the high points of the 10s

Attack on Titan is actaully one of the high points of the 10s and it's more a product of the decade then yet another Gundam that doesn't do anything new or interesting.
And yeah they are the least of the decade problems, the 1000 shitty LN, isekai and moe are the problem.

90s were more experimental than the 2010s could ever hope to be. The 2010s are just pure mass produced garbage, you probably think stuff like MiA and Psycho Pass are good.

I wouldn't call attack on titan one of the high points, and neither would I call a gundam one. And I'm obviously not referring to the shitty seasonal isekai shlock. In terms of bad anime 2010 wins by far, so much shit came out in that decade and is still coming out. Thankfully there was also a lot of good stuff that came out too, especially in the first half. I also appreciate the 10s because there's variety in the kind of shows being made, it's not just all sci fi action or romcoms

The 90s were experimental in that there was a handful of series and a couple of films that were experimental. Really memorable works, but if you think to count them there's really not that many

I think modern original anime is pretty bad these days, It's winning the lottery of getting a good one or one that people really appreciate.
Well It's not an easy task but I feel like Japan has gave up on creating good original anime when you can adapt some dogshit isekai manga.

Go ahead expose yourself. What are the high point of the 2010s?

The 90s were so expiremental that even blockbuster anime was more akin to arthouse cinema than anime shlock.

A trakovsky-esque anime film like GITS wouldn't be abe to succeed in the modern market.

For me its Penguindrum, Kyousougiga and Kill la Kill, but there are many others that people could point to as being high points of the decade that I'd agree with. I'm sure you can gleam my taste from those examples and see why I prefer the 10s. Those kinds of anime didn't exist in previous decades, with the exception of the other works by the same staff which I also love.

But GitS didn't initially succeed in the 90s either, it only got popular after home release. Which is the same thing that would happen if it were released today

A decade ago people were saying the 2000s were shit. A decade from now people will be saying that the 2020s were shit. The only "simple" thing here is that biases are affected by time and don't reflect reality.

It doesn't matter what people said or will say as it has no bearing on the truth.

It wouldn't even succed in the ova market today, films like Patlabor 2 and Gits just like Stalker would put modern audiences to sleep.
There's no room for slow moving pieces in the modern market.
