episode 8 and Ryu hit the streets of hong kong, i'm thinking the anime is going too fast for its own good, it's losing a lot of the messages of the video game, about slowing down and feeling out obstacles and challenges, it's downright hilarious he is told to punch a tree until there's leaves covering the ground and for him to joke about it and for it to jump cut to it being done, what's the point

Holy shit a rare Shenmue the Animation thread on Any Forums. Just watched the new episode. It's rushed like the rest since they're squeezing long games into 12 episodes, but eh, still enjoyed it to a certain extent.
Also anime Nozomi a cute.
>episode 8
Also it's episode 6 user. Are you a time traveler?
my dish television fucks up episode numbers of stuff and i never know when to trust them, it's really getting on my nerves
i'm not this kind of guy, but i couldn't help but notice they really increased Joy's bust size for the anime
i swear in the game she isn't sporting a chest this big, dunno why they did that, they should be focusing more on the story! it seems we agree it's rushed to shit
>they really increased Joy's bust size for the anime
Not the biggest difference, but you're right it might be bigger. I think? I actually don't really remember game Joy.
I like game Mark more than anime Mark.
Shitmue is a boring trash game where nothing happens they should have made a Yakuza anime
Filtered.
Shitmue 4 will never come out lol
Shenmue is a comfy game.

Oh no no no no Yakuzasisters we got too cocky!
It's okay but some of the story changes and how it handles pacing at times is really dubious.
Also the original games had huge soundtrack with over 8 hours of songs and yet the anime already reuses the same tracks at ep5 several times instead of just using unique tracks from the games.
Supposedly they will try to squeeze Shenmue 3 into this too, so it will definitely be very rushed.
>Also the original games had huge soundtrack with over 8 hours of songs
I was surprised by how much music in that game is so very easy to miss. Like, a couple unique tracks that only ever play in certain shops that are not even plot-relevant. I'd wager many players must have gone through the 2 games and missed so much of the shop-specific music.
Joy is annoying.
On a side-note, I'm pleasantly surprised by how not-garbage the action is in the anime. The fights have been pretty decent. The 70-man battle from the previous episode could've been more epic though.
>how it handles pacing at times is really dubious.
Shenmue 1's plot took 5 episodes in the anime, and it took me like 20 hours to beat Shenmue 1 (because I was playing blind with no guide). So an average of like 4 hours of game-time per 20-minute anime.
>'m thinking the anime is going too fast for its own good, it's losing a lot of the messages of the video game, about slowing down and feeling out obstacles and challenges
Welcome to every video game adaptation ever made
TAILS THE FOX
I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW IT!! I CLAAAAPPPPEEEED!!!!!
Too bad that's as far the show went with the side-activities.
