It's a mahjong arc

>it's a mahjong arc

fuck YOU muroaka

>what is mahjong soul
Plaster a cute anime girl on your website and weebs will suck it up.

>Ron RON ROOOOOOOOOOON
The dopamine hit of that splash page is still with me to this day.

I should reread now that I learned mahjong from Yakuza
what's up with the TLs, how's mario doin'

thanks for reminding me to put that chink shit in my filter

Kaiji mahjong arc is fun because most of it is about how each side is cheating to win.

i played like 4 of the yakuza games and i still have no idea how to play it. am i retarded?

I'd love to play mahjong irl sometime, but I'm getting filtered hard by fu counting and scores below mangan. I kind of know how it works in theory, but having to do it at the table would make me spill my spaghetti.

Everybody who knows how to play mahjong is a degenerate gambler

Read this, really enjoyed it. Have since learned riichi mahjong and play with friends. Looking forward to reading it again. We've played Minefield a few times - really hit and miss without actual stakes, but when it clicks it feels great.

I decided I'm too retarded to understand mahjong. Go on without me bros

I'll never understand how people act like not knowing how to play mahjong is a big obstacle to reading fukumoto stuff. I read and enjoyed all of Ten without knowing how to play because he explains everything constantly. The only thing knowing how to play gives you is a bit of context for how ridiculous some of the ends they make are, but you even mostly get that because someone's usually screaming "WOW IT'S CRAZY!! IF HE DRAWS THE 2-SOU HE'LL MAKE A HUGE HAND WORTH A LOT OF POINTS! HE'D HAVE TO BE SO LUCKY!"

>what's up with the TLs, how's mario doin'
In big trouble again because he's still a fucking idiot. Was willing to give himself up to save Chang and Kaiji though so at least he's still a bro.

ngl I already got filtered during the rps arc. Got real tired of that game after 20 chapters or so

no, it was a pretty serious investment to learn it and I still have to look up shit like which wind or dragon is the dora

I felt like hot shit after getting OK at yakuza mahjong and I tried to watch pros play and it's just comical how out of my depth I'd be in a real game

>which wind
am I retarded and missing something because I thought it was as simple as seat and round

>dont know how to play
>read the rules no pictures so get bored
>download mahjong game from stream to play
>computer is potato cant run it (only can play league)
>cant play chess dont understand the combos and move sets after 3 turns
>can only play checkers
brainlet reporting in

I'm saying like when the wind that's showing as the dora indicator is, say, north I always forget what the order of the next wind is for the dora. It's clockwise... I think

Let the cat teach you.

I did get filtered by the mahjong. It was just meaningless words to me. I’ll probably try and come back to it some time.

mahjong shouldn't be hard, you just need to keep the yaku sheet with you

also the order for wind/dragon doras is NESW (north east south west) and GRW (green red white)

Fus aren't that hard:
riichi.wiki/Fu
In practice it's really just like this:
>not a pinfu hand and no fancy triplets? 30 for tsumo, 40 for ron.
>got fancy triplets? Time to count how many fus they give you, you might end up at 50 or 60.
>it's a pinfu hand? 20 fus with tsumo, 30 with ron, because it's a special weird bullshit case.

If you want to know how this works:
>you start with 20, you always round up your fus to the highest 10. So 22 fus become 30 fus.
>you get +2 fus for tsumo and if the hand is closed +10 for ron
>triplets or kans will give you additional fus: the lowest value added is +2 fus for an open triplet of simples, then you x2 if it's a triplet of terminal or if it's closed. If it's a kan, you x4. So for instance, a *closed* *kan* of *terminal* will be 2 * 2 * 4 * 2 = 32 fus. But an open kan of terminal will only be 2*2*4 = 16.

You lost me at mahjong

literally just make 4 triplets 1 pair user

do it for kiryu

>kaiji realizes that his friends from the bog have turned on him
most kino moment in the series tbqhwyf
also is the escape arc following one poker still going? looks super uninteresting.

It's still ongoing. It's great, but you really shouldn't read it weekly.
