Rootbeer isn't a thing in my country, and I was curious, so I saw a can of imported Carter's in a candy store once, and figured I'd give it a try. 0 / 10, tasted exactly like cough medicine.

And Dr Pepper but less so, characters are at least supposed to look like freaks for liking the intellectual drink for chosen ones. Something about them smelling like herbal medicine that they would have imprinted as children don't go in the mouth, so maybe like licorice and menthol for mayonnaise monsters.

you sure it wasnt moxie? moxie tastes like cough syrup to me. And mountian dew tastes like mountian piss. But I fucking love root beer. If you do drink root beer, I suggest either MUG or BARQs, A&W foams in your stomach and makes it hurt/gives you gas. I fucking love orange soda though. Sunkist, Crush (more of a juice) and Fanta masterrace (gasses the juice)

I doubt it has much to do with skin color, but with where you grow up. Certain tastes require climactic/cultural backgrounds (not sure which) to develop.
